What your 500 pesos can do?

What your 500 pesos can do?

Good day everyone, my name is Christine Voorheis owner of CVoorheis Handicraft Shop. Let me share a little story, how I started on this business.

Way back year 2013 I’m a single mom of a 4-year-old little boy, and my son was on the Day Care that time.  For past time while I am waiting on the waiting area of the school of my son, I always do my hobby crocheting that I learned how to crochet from my Mom. Until one of my co-parents noticed what I am doing and asked me to make a Sling Bag Crochet for her. Ate Luz was my very first customer on this business. From the 500 pesos I bought some yarns for materials of the Sling Bag that she ordered. After that first order of her I started to get lots of orders from co-parents too.

And like the usual, I keep doing I am uploading photos of my every creation in the social media. And I also got orders from friends, family and friends from social media too. I used TEEN’S CROCHET as my business name those time. My income that time was a source to support the needs of my son since I’m a single mom that time.

I had a saver account in one of the Cooperative here in Taguig, and at year 2015 I decided to be a regular member of that Cooperative the Simbayanan ni Maria Multi-Purpose Cooperative. At the same year I’m been part of their SMEC Department, department that give a Free trainings and knowledge how to handle the business. There is a lot of people from their department helped me and mold me as a responsible and better entrepreneur. They are the one exposure for the first time in public, they encourage me to join bazaar and other trade fair.

Finally, I made up my mind to be make everything legal. I registered my business in at year 2018.  Everything goes well since then, finally I’m legit business. 😉  Invitation for trade fair keeps going on my way being entrepreneur. From Cooperative, DTI, Caritas Margin and City of Taguig. They are keep inviting me not just to do bazaar but also to be a Trainor of crochet workshop.

Now from 500 pesos I have my own business now that lots of raw materials and the shop that I can say it’s a fruit of my hard work.
